Our Volunteers are an extremely important part of SRE!

For over 25 years, Leander ISD volunteers have made a difference in the lives of students from pre-K through graduation. LISD would not be the great district that it is without our volunteers and their countless of hours of service to our students. Our volunteers:
·         serve as PTA board members and committee chairs,
·         chaperone field trips,
·         help in the library or the office,
·         assist with teacher workroom requests,
·         serve special lunches in the cafeteria,
·         help at Book Fairs or Field Day,
·         help with fun community building events like the State Fair,
·         help in the classroom,
·         organize classroom parties,
·         and much more!

Why Should I Volunteer?

"When do I have time to volunteer?" you ask yourselfVolunteering at your child's campus may be one of the most important, life-altering things you can ever do for your child. Why you ask?

Children Benefit

Researchers have been studying the effects parent attitudes and actions have on their children's academic success for more than 30 years. The results have been consistent. When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better (Henderson & Berla).

A Significant Difference

One study found that students from families with above-average parent involvement were 30% more successful (in test scores, teacher ratings, retention rates, GPA) in school than those with below-average involvement.

Teachers and Staff Benefit Too

We're talking about our teachers and staff - the very teachers and staff who nurture your child everyday throughout the school year. We need your helping hands and smiling faces on our campuses to help lighten the load for our staff giving them more time in the classroom. We appreciate your time and talents in LISD schools.
